Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a Electronics Mechanic Supervisor (Title 32) (Permanent), Position Description Number D1261000 and is part of the VA MATES, National Guard. Responsibilities As an Electronics Mechanic Supervisor (Title 32) (Permanent), WS-2604-11, you will perform the following duties: Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor. Coordinates work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors. Determines the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects. Redirects individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work. Informs the supervisor of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resources. Participates with the supervisor in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work. Investigates work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes. Implements corrective actions within their authority to resolve work problems. Recommends solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operations directed by other supervisors. Plans and establishes overall leave schedules. Determines training needs of subordinates and arranges for accomplishment. Sets performance standards, and makes formal appraisals of subordinate work performance. Initiates recommendations for promotion or reassignment of subordinates. Performs the non-supervisory work of the function as needed. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications NOTE: Qualifications are based on breadth/level of experience. WHO CAN APPLY:GROUP I - In order to be eligible for this position you must be an Enlisted Member (E6/SSG - E9/SGM) or Warrant Officer (W1/WO1 - W3/CW3) currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Army National Guard Military Technician Program. Military Grades: Enlisted Member (E6/SSG - E9/SGM) or Warrant Officer (W1/WO1 - W3/CW3) GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have experience or training which demonstrates the ability to be responsible for supervising workers directly or through subordinate leaders and/or supervisors in accomplishing the work of the function. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 36 months of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the WS-10 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the WS grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as: Experience planning use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Experience establishing deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor.
