Electronics Technician

Pay:  $29.72 per hour

Work schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Do you have construction and electrical skills and experience? We are looking for people with your skill set to begin a meaningful career with Management & Training Corporation at the Imperial Regional Detention Facility in Calexico, California. Job responsibilities: You will be responsible for duties involving electronics repairs, general maintenance, and repairs on equipment and buildings, as well as assisting with technical trades such as plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry.

Essential Functions:

Perform maintenance and repair of structures, electrical systems, heating, plumbing, ventilating, air conditioning and drainage systems. Recommend contracted assistance when on-site repair is not possible.  Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, outlets and fuses as directed.  Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.  Perform repair or replacement of plumbing fixtures, washers, seals, etc. Makes repairs and adjustments to equipment, such as radio communication, security systems, generators, measuring devices, and similar electronic equipment and accessories; as required, operates such equipment.  Assist higher level technicians with installation and repair of the more complicated electronic equipment.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent, Technical training and general knowledge of basic electronic theory and electrical practice; repairing and maintaining electronic, general repair, and maintenance, and three (3) years in repair, maintenance, and electronic circuitry is required. Must have an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.  Must be at least 21 years of age.  Valid driver’s license in the state of California with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
