Summary You will serve as a Electronics Technician in the in the Tactical Electronic Warfare, code 575100 of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY. Responsibilities You will serve as a junior Electronics Technician on several electro-optic/infrared (EO/IR) projects. You will be responsible for supporting the senior technicians in maintaining and updating documentation for all test equipment. You will assist in the preparation and presentation of briefings and papers to a variety of audiences. You will ensure that up-to-date calibration of EO/IR power meters, oscilloscopes, and other measurement equipment is upheld. You will perform mechanical and industrial technician work as required. You will ensure that systems that are under evaluation are functioning properly during trials. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-01/04) or pay band (NR-01) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Assisting with the design, fabrication and integration of EO/IR systems; 2) Maintaining systems during laboratory and field testing;3) Coordinating personnel and logistics for field trials; and 4) Integrating electronics and lasers in complex optical SA and C-ISR systems and developing of threat surrogates to evaluate the effectiveness of EW/SA systems. Education The following can be substituted in order to meet the minimum qualification requirements of this position: Successfully completed all the requirements for a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or electronics technology, or 3 years of study in an accredited (by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET) curriculum in electronics, or A full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree that included major study or at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as engineering, physical science, technology, or mathematics. At least 12 of the 24 semester hours must have been in electronics courses.
