Summary You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the C5I DIVISION (CODE 290), ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT (CODE 200) of NAVAL SHIP REPAIR FACILITY. ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.*** Responsibilities You will serve as resident expert and technical authority on AEGIS Computer Suites (BL 5-9); MK9/10 ORTS: Legacy Computing suites (AN/UYK-43, AN/UYQ-70); AEGIS LAN Interconnect System (ALIS); Mission Critical Enclosures, AEGIS GMD equipment. You will be responsible for providing technical and engineering services in the performance, operation, maintenance, Depot Level repair and moderinzation, system testing/certification and Fleet Support. You will provide technical oversight, management and direction to a highly diversified workforce. You will resolve technical problems, usually consisting of multiple engineering disciplines including but not limited to fiber optic principles, computing technologies, electrical, and mechanical. You will support the ship maintenance teams and the engineering department by providing on-site resolution and/or correction of production, performance, or quality deficiencies. You will provide immediate authoritative technical assistance/training to ship force personnel on urgent mission degrading casualties (CASREPS) or similar problems affecting the overall operability of systems and ships combat readiness. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience as a lead Baseline 9 Aegis Computer Network Technician (ACNT) with advanced proficiency in TI-12H and TI-16 AEGIS computing programs. Experience serving as a subject matter expert (SME) for shipboard ACNT systems, including Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC), Aegis Training Domain (ATD), Battle Force Tactical Training (BFTT), Operational Readiness Test System (ORTS), Naval Tactical Data System (NTDS), and Combat Information Center (CIC) displays and consoles. Experience utilizing extensive knowledge of shipboard electronics and computer networking to pinpoint and resolve technical issues, ensuring the functionality of integrated circuits, auxiliary equipment, and shipboard computer suites while precluding disruptions to operational schedules. Experience providing guidance, technical assistance, and mentorship to technicians in troubleshooting shipboard computer suites, battlespace informational systems, and training equipment as an ACNT. Experience recommending and implementing maintenance, repair actions, and technical solutions to support the operational goals and mission requirements for all shipboard ACNT systems and secondary equipment. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience using foundational knowledge as an Aegis Computer Network Technician (ACNT) working with TI-12H and TI-16 AEGIS computing programs and supporting the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of shipboard ACNT systems such as Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC), Aegis Training Domain (ATD), Battle Force Tactical Training (BFTT), Operational Readiness Test System (ORTS), Naval Tactical Data System (NTDS), and Combat Information Center (CIC) displays and consoles. Experience applying a basic understanding of shipboard electronics and computer networking to assist in identifying and resolving issues affecting integrated circuits, auxiliary equipment, and shipboard computer suites. Experience providing support to senior technicians in troubleshooting battlespace informational systems and training equipment and contributes to maintenance and repair efforts to ensure system readiness. Experience offering recommendations for basic repair actions and collaborating with team members to achieve mission objectives for shipboard ACNT systems.
