Electronics Technician

**Description**
SAIC is seeking an **Electronics Technician** to support both existing and new programs. This position will be located in **North Charleston, SC** .
**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:**
- Apply technical knowledge of electronics components.
- Practical knowledge of Quality Control and computer science.
- Create technical work instructions for new and existing equipment across multiple programs.
- Skills in restoring equipment operation, evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
- Review existing process risks, and implement process improvements with the goal to exceed performance objectives and reduce costs and schedule.
- Some practical knowledge of science or engineering.
Candidate will repair, troubleshoot, modify and install various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication); personal and main frame computers and terminals. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with established processes or other control procedures.
**Qualifications**
**REQUIRED EDUCATION:**
- High school education and Formal electronics training from: Technical School or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or 4 years electronics apprenticeship program.
**QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:**
- Ability to read and interpret TDP and mechanical drawings
- Troubleshooting of computer systems and networks
- Experience replacing components, repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Strong communication skills including; technical, interpersonal, written, and verbal
- Organization and Time Management Skills
**CLEARANCE:**
Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust.
**DESIRED CERTIFICATIONS:**
- CompTia ADESIRED SKILLS: - Knowledge of MIL-STD-31000, Department of Defense (DoD) and industry documentation standards for Engineering and Design. - Strong technical, interpersonal, written, and verbal skills. - Candidate must have the ability to operate effectively in a team environment and able to receive direction, and take constructive criticism.
