This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Responsibilities Serves as the depots project lead and is the technical authority on one or more complex Satellite Communication systems. Responsible for providing technical guidance to the customer and TYAD management officials for new systems design, development, fabrication, Technical Data Packages (TDP) and is the point of contact for TDP development and issues. Review all Project Managment (PM) requirements for technical guidance to assure the PMs system requirements will be met. Perform engineering analysis to verify design concepts, system integrity and safety. The project lead will provide managerial leadership, guidance, and work directly with engineering shops, Sustainment Training Team, Student Instruct and Production Management. Makes sound administrative and technical decisions requiring an extensive background in various electronics fields. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Electronics Engineering Leadership Planning and Evaluating Technical Competence One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Overseeing testing, installing, of electronic communications systems; AND 2) Providing technical guidance on electronic theory and techniques; AND 3) Leading team members to achieve specific tasks, program and/or production goals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, no substitution of experience is allowed. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
