We have a four-month co-op opportunity available for a Electronics Technician student.  In this role, you will assist our Equipment Repairs & Maintenance team in various projects and work orders in a manufacturing environment. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with skilled professionals, leverage advanced technologies, and contribute to the success of Raytheon ELCAN.

Primary Responsibilities:

Support our Equipment Repairs & Maintenance Team with work orders, projects etc.Work safely and in accordance with all applicable acts, regulations, legislation, and codes to ensure personal and public safetyInterpret electrical, mechanical, and piping drawingsUnderstand and use a variety of heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning tools and equipment safely and properlyWillingness to learn and acquire knowledge/understanding through study, instruction or experience

 

Qualifications & Experience:

Completion of Ontario Secondary School DiplomaEnrollment in College in an Electronics Technician discipline or equivalent is preferred.Exposure to technical drawing packages.Developing knowledge of PLC and motor control systems.Must have good eye and finger dexterity.Knowledge of electric and electronic controls preferred.Basic understanding of electronics at circuit board level preferred.Ongoing development of electrical theory, wiring, installation methods and instrumentation knowledge.Basic knowledge of distribution equipment, electronics, electrical equipment, protective devices, and high voltage systems an asset.Proven verbal and written communications skillsProfessional, responsive, and customer-focusedHighly motivated with a demonstrated positive attitude

This position involves technologies regulated by the Canadian government’s Controlled Goods Program and the Contract Security Program. In order to obtain the required security clearance, candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada, have resided in Canada for a minimum of five consecutive years, and meet all other program requirements.  Job offers will be conditional upon candidates undergoing a successful security screening per the Controlled Goods Regulations and the Contract Security Program.
