In this position is to provide electronics technical support for designing, developing, acquiring, installing, operating and maintaining systems used for the developmental and operational test and evaluation of sophisticated Electronic Warfare (EW) systems Responsibilities For additional information on direct hire opportunities with the Air Force please click here. Certifies assigned systems and sub-systems to ensure compliance with USAF, DoD, and commercial test customers systems under test and safety requirements. Makes overall evaluation and determination as to whether or not the utilities are operating within prescribed standards and tolerances. Collaborates with engineers regarding ground test support utilities tolerances and makes on-the-spot determinations as to what actions to take to return system(s) to operable conditions. Develops and recommends changes in procedures and technical instructions to ensure more efficient operations and/or reduction in maintenance time. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Engineering and Architecture positions located here SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NJ-02 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-08 in the Federal Service. Specialized experiences is to provide electronics technical support for designing, developing, acquiring, installing, operating and maintaining systems used for the developmental and operational test and evaluation of sophisticated Electronic Warfare (EW) systems installed on various ground and manned and unmanned airborne weapon systems. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Knowledge of 400 Hz frequency converters and inverters, F-22 and F-35 ground test hydraulic pumping systems, B-1B Coolanol and Polyalphaolefin (PAO) ground test systems and various other hydronic conditioning systems, electronic servo controls, environmental controls, and peripheral equipment for the anechoic chamber and other EW ground test and modeling and simulation capabilities, systems, subsystems, and infrastructure. 2. Practical knowledge of a wide range of EW ground test equipment, methods principles, requirements, work techniques, and practices and skill in applying standardized, analytical, and evaluative methods and techniques. 3. A comprehensive, intensive and practical knowledge of, and extensive experience and skill in applying a wide range of technical electronics/electrical concepts, practices, regulations, policies, and precedents; analytical and diagnostics techniques; and techniques for developing new or modified work methods, approaches, or procedures. 4. Skill in analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, technical data; identifying and analyzing complex technical problems; and developing innovative solutions to problems in an environment where rapid equipment and system restoration is always paramount to ensure continuous operation where required. Desired Skills: Advanced Troubleshooting and Diagnostic Skills Proficiency in Wiring and Circuit Design Knowledge of Control Systems and Automation.
