Position Overview

As a the Electrical Estimating Department Manager duties include, but are not limited to reading and interpreting documents, subcontractor solicitation, leading a team of estimators, analyzing drawing and specifications, reviewing and assisting with proposals, presentation of estimates to clients, managing 3rd party cost estimating contractors, and other duties as required to prepare cost estimates for various projects. Conceptual estimating, private client preconstruction services, design-assist and EPC management, and means based cost estimating experience is strongly preferred.

This position will be based at our Energy Corridor office in Houston, TX. Responsibilities Implement and oversee district estimating program and activities including the development of policies and procedures.  Assist district manager in the review of all estimates; maintain past cost history and comparable details. Maintain training program for estimating staff, update and maintain lead estimator and sponsor manuals  Coordinate with the business development department in the preparation of proposal documents.  Participate in and manage estimate reviews and bid submittals  Ensure training of all new graduates is scheduled for engineers in estimating and Field Engineer duties.  Provide estimating support for numerous projects, solicit, evaluate and incorporate vendor or manufacturer material and subcontract pricing. Prepare recaps, pricing sheets, bid forms and other proposal documents for in-house review and bid submittal. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management with an emphasis in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred.   At least 10 years’ estimating experience in estimating practices within the Oil, Gas, & Chemical EPC space.  Strong work ethic and interpersonal, organization and leadership skills.  Ability to work on a team as well as work independently with little or no supervision.  Experience with standard office computer software. Results oriented with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities. Ability to travel as company needs dictate.
