Elevator Operator

The Elevator Operator is responsible for shipping & receiving meal product arriving by railcar & departing by truck- in an efficient manner with respect to; production, quality, sanitation and safety. 

 

Main Accountabilities

Operate systems required to receive and ship product in a safe and efficient manner. Maintain and troubleshoot all equipment within the facility. Know and follow all safety, environmental, and emergency procedures. Complete log sheets, load forms and other paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. Understand shipping and receiving systems and product flow throughout the facility Understand and follow switch engine and rail procedures Understand and follow sample procedures as it relates to shipping product Demonstrate knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures Demonstrate skill in operating mobile equipment Communicate policies and procedures to others as needed Monitor product levels and assist in monthly inventories Keep work areas and grounds clean at all times Actively participate in all aspects of safety including near-miss reporting and meetings Demonstrate the following core values and guiding behaviors which are expected of all employees at Bunge North America: Integrity, Openness and Trust, Teamwork, Citizenship, and Entrepreneurship. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Education/Experience    

High School Diploma or GED; is preferred Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures. Knowledge of basic math. Oral and written communications skills. Understanding of basic technology of area where assigned. Ability to take instruction and follow directions required Comfortable working safely in high places and with rail equipment required Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions required Strong mechanical skills preferred Proficient in basic computer skills preferred Must have initiative and demonstrate strong customer service skills required Must be self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised required Positive attitude required Background in agriculture desired Three Shift Operation Able to work overtime as needed
