Job Description:
\nAs part of the KanCare Clearinghouse Program, the Eligibility Professional Team Coach will support supervisory staff, serves as an escalation point for Eligibility Professionals’ inquiries and aides in the resolution of complex cases. This position will perform a variety of duties. The position is responsible for gathering thorough documentation and entering information into various systems. Serves as a program/process expert in Medicaid programs or special processing.
\nEssential duties may include, but are not limited to:
\n\n Functions as a subject matter expert for designated departmental functions\n Responsible for subject area information and guidance that could include training, fact sheets, or other tools.\n Assists in the development and improvement of new and existing Eligibility Professionals\n Demonstrates high quality customer service and focuses on the accuracy of information provided.\n Provide mentoring/training through job shadowing and assistance for Trainee and Professional team members. \n Eligibility Professional Team Coaches are expected to use knowledge of State eligibility processes, policies, and procedures governing managed care enrollment to communicate with consumers regarding a variety of issues. \n Attend training as assigned to develop and enhance current understanding of Kansas Medicaid eligibility programs.\n Coordinates with KDHE leadership on complex cases, as needed.\n Assists with special projects and other departmental needs, as requested.\n Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations, policies, and guidelines.\n\n\n
Minimum Qualifications/Experience
\n\n High School diploma or GED equivalent; post-secondary education preferred.\n One additional year of experience interviewing, investigating, compiling information, documenting decisions, interpreting guidelines and/or providing technical assistance relevant to the agency’s programs. \n Minimum of one (1) years’ experience in completing Medicaid programs for KanCare\n\nPreferred Skills or Knowledge:
\n\n Successfully complete KDHE Eligibility Training\n Post-secondary education in Business administration, Public Administration, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work or a related field may be substituted for the additional year of required experience. For the substitution, one year of education equals two years of experience.\n Knowledge of Medicaid and managed care programs\n Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in determining Long-Term Care, Elderly and Disabled, or Family Medical eligibility with proven proficiency and knowledge\n Strong computer skills with the ability to maneuver in complex software systems.\n Intermediate level of skill with MS Office, Outlook, and Internet usage\n Ability to communicate at multiple levels. \n Ability to manage competing priorities.\n Demonstrated ability to perform complicated, unrelated tasks efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.\n Demonstrated critical thinking skills.\n Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing including knowledge of basic grammar, spelling & punctuation.\n Willingness to work part of a team.\n Independently performs specialized and/or complex work assignments.\n Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of all records and communications.\n All other duties as assigned.\n\n
