Embedded Firmware Architect

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing firmware for in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) displays, gauges, and control modules, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and user experience. **Key Responsibilities:** + Understand customer requirements for Polaris' products + Lead the design and development of embedded firmware for IVI displays, gauges, and control modules within vehicles, advise developers on design implementation and code reviews. + Provide high-level estimates and task breakdown. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers, to define firmware requirements and specifications. + Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to ensure the viability of firmware designs. + Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, code documentation, and test plans. + Oversee the prototyping, testing, and validation of firmware to ensure it meets performance and reliability standards. + Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into firmware designs. + Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members. + Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations. + Optimize firmware for performance, memory usage, and power consumption. + Develop and manage the firmware roadmap for IVI displays, gauges, and control modules, ensuring alignment with overall product strategy and timelines. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. + Proven experience (8+ years) in embedded firmware design and development. + Strong knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and real-time operating systems (RTOS). + Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and assembly. + Experience with hardware-software integration and debugging. + Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. + Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, IEC, AUTOSAR). + Experience with vehicle communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, FlexRay). **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience with IVI systems and automotive electronics. + Familiarity with graphics libraries and display technologies. + Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices for embedded systems. + Experience with Agile development methodologies. \#LI-CS99​ **The pay range for Minnesota is $127,000 to $160,000 per year.
