Embedded Software Engineer
Job Description

Danfoss Climate Solutions is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join our motorized valve actuator team within HydronicS RD&E in Ljubljana.

This dynamic team specializes in the development of motorized valve actuators. As the global focus on digitalization continues to expand, the demand for connectivity, IoT, and Cloud solutions has grown significantly. The need for products that offer essential data for optimization and additional services has also seen a notable increase.

The job is primarily an onsite job, but to have the best possible work life balance we can offer flexibility between working onsite and from home, when the business activities allow it.

Job Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will encompass the development of embedded software for actuators in the realm of district energy. This includes the entire software development lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to implementation and testing across various applications. 

Your tasks will also include:

Participating in the conceptual architecture and implementation of the embedded software platform in collaboration with the international team. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware and mechanical engineers, project and product managers and testing lab to design and integrate software components into final products. Contributing to the design and development of embedded software systems for actuators, with a strong focus on high performance, reliability, efficiency and low memory consumption for cost optimized solutions. Specify and implement automated and manual integration tests of embedded software, electronics and mechanics. Develop unit tests. Keeping up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and seamlessly integrating them into our software development process. Background & Skills

The right candidate preferable has at least a few years of experience in embedded software development, coupled with a good knowledge of embedded  C and desirably  Python A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field, such as software engineering, computer science, electronic engineering, or mechatronics engineering, is required

Additionally, experience in some of the following areas is a plus:

Cortex-M3/M4/M7/M33 processors, experience with ST processors  Various communication protocols like RS485, TCP/IP, Modbus, BACnet, BLE, Zigbee etc. Platform development with support for multiple products. SSDLC (Software Development Life Cycle). Agile Scrum and DevOps processes. Static code analysis and unit testing. Version control, specifically Git Used to working with: Python, YAML file format, Powershell, CMake BLDC/Stepper motor control

As a global company with colleagues across the world, strong written and spoken English skills are essential, and a willingness to travel occasionally, as needed, is also expected.
