Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment?  Collaborating across team functions to meet customer needs? Working with a great team of people and bridging software applications into the physical world?  Then, come join our development team.  Fluke Corporation is seeking an experience Embedded Software Engineering Manager to lead a team in Wroclaw, Poland, focusing on embedded software/firmware/UI development, team leadership, and project management. 

As an Embedded Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the leadership of a team of embedded software developers in the application and user interface space within the Embedded Software Application team. This is a hands-on position. This person will also be responsible for designing, updating, and implementing firmware for existing and new products. Reporting to the Senior Software Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will guide efficient engineering development, and grow our talent for the long-term evolution of the group. The Embedded Software Engineering Manager must possess a level of expertise that will facilitate both embedded software implementation, as well as mentor, hiring, continuous learning, and career development of team members.

 

Primary Responsibilities 

Serve as technical leader for major development project or multiple projects Lead a team of Embedded Software Application and User Interface engineers, including career development, performance appraisal, and providing regular feedback Design, develop, test & debug applications for the existing and new Fluke products Responsible for developing, implementing, and/or leading project plans and processes, schedules and for documentation of work and results Work closely with other teams to ensure solutions work as expected on target platforms. Collaborate with the leadership team, project management, product manager, and product owner to make proper trade-offs for functionality, time, risk, and impact  Work closely with hardware engineers, system architects, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components Continuously learn and improve processes to efficiently develop high quality products in a timely manner Build and lead scrum teams to deliver firmware and embedded software for world-class products Hiring, mentoring, and development embedded software engineers

 

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field  Technical leadership experience in C/C++ development targeting ARM processors and SoCs/SoMs 5 years of experience leading the technical development of firmware/software and 5 years of embedded software/firmware development experience 5 years of experience as a technical team leader in an Agile-based software development environment. Proficient with Agile management tools such as Jira and Confluence. Knowledge of software design patterns and principles for embedded systems Proven leadership skills in managing software development teams Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Experience with Agile development methodologies Experience facilitating and collaborating with technical and non-technical teams in face-to-face and remote environments. Familiarity with the fundamentals of security and usability. Excellent project management, interpersonal and organizational skills. Self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision. Strong technical mentorship skills

 

Desired Skills: Experience leading multiple scrum teams Experience with Yocto, and working in an embedded Linux environment Expertise with C++11 or newer. Experience working with ARM and/or MSP processor Experience with automatic Continues Integration (CI) testing
