Role Summary/Purpose:
The software technical manager role is designed to focus both internally and externally on technical tasks related to Stores Management Software, its usage within engineering on new and legacy products and technical pursuits for new applications.
Responsibilities:
Manage the Stores Management software team.
Provide technical expertise and leadership in Stores Management software.
Interactions with internal and external stakeholders and customers to understand the applications and needs of the SMS software team.
Apply System Software Engineering expertise and methodology to technical challenges and development programs.
Develop software architectures, requirements and interfaces.
Conduct and participate in trade studies to identify optimal solutions.
Mentor and develop software engineering talent.
Support the business team developing new opportunities and generating winning proposals.
Qualifications/Requirements
Demonstrated avionics industry experience with real-time embedded control software.
Experience in the development and specification of Civil and/or Military avionics systems.
Knowledge of aircraft computing, networking, navigation, and general avionics systems.
Knowledge and experience architecting complex avionics systems and software.
Experience in early customer product interactions and stakeholder requirements development.
Ability to effectively guide and lead technical teams.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Aviation, or Aerospace from an accredited college or university.
Minimum 8 years of systems technical and project leadership experience in the aviation industry in any of the following areas: avionics system development, product design, leading and managing technical teams and executing new technology introduction programs.
