Embryologist - Reproductive Medicine - North Fayette - Full Time

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Responsible for oocyte retrieval, IVF inseminations, IUI inseminations preparations, egg/embryo handling and scoring, ET/ FET, ICSI, AH, biopsy, fixation, cryopreservation/ thaw, and QC/QA.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs daily QC procedures. Evaluates accuracy and technical quality of laboratory tests.Collects, analyzes and/or prepares oocytes & sperm for insemination and ICSI. Performs insemination and ICSI.Assesses fertilization and zygote quality following insemination. Handles and conducts daily assessment/grading of embryos. Selects and prepares embryos for intrauterine transfer.Performs embryo biopsy.Maintains all IVF equipment including incubators, isolettes, microscopes, CO2 tanks, and liquid nitrogen tanks.Arranges cryopreservation and thawing of embryos at varying stages of development.Mentors Assisted Reproductive Technologists in the techniques and administrative requirements of the laboratory.Prepares and submits regulatory reporting requirements to the FDA, CDC, CLIA and COLA.Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

Bachelor's DegreeExperience in all aspects of the Embryology Laboratory, including IVF, ICSI, AH, and Cryopreservation of embryos and gametes.Experience in andrology laboratory procedures, both diagnostic and clinical.Experience in endocrinology laboratory equipment and testing procedures.Management experience and documented skills. Knowledge of CLIA, COLA, CAP, and OSHA regulations.
