EMEA Accounting Manager - OSTTRA
About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 11 The Team: The EMEA Enterprise Controller team is responsible for the month end close, management & statutory reporting and internal controls across the region. The team values collaboration across various corporate functions, in delivering to our internal & external stakeholders, and a strong team ethic. The role reports to the EMEA Controller for Osttra supporting the Controller team across several jurisdictions. The Impact: The role will provide support to the EMEA Controller team with a number of entities in Sweden. We are looking for a candidate who is a problem solver with an analytical mindset who is comfortable with taking on responsibility to ensure compliance with local statutory requirements. The candidate will play a key role in providing support for all Controllership matters related to our joint venture partners’ entities in the region. Responsibilities: Analysis/interrogation of key balance sheet & P&L accounts, with preparation and posting of any associated journals Preparation of financial statements for legal entities and consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and local GAAP Preparation of quarterly management accounts for presentation to the board Responsibility for month end processes, including the preparation & posting of journals along with preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations Liaising and interacting with external auditors pursuant to the timely completion of statutory audits carried out on legal entities Ensuring timely submission of financial information for regulatory purposes in Sweden Assistance with preparation of tax and VAT returns and associated accounting workflows, including processing of payment and balance sheet reconciliation of related accounts Supporting the full integration of joint venture partner finance processes into SPGI’s This is Hybrid role - you'll be asked to work from office 2 days a week. What We’re Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications: Minimum 5 years’ experience in Financial Reporting or Accounting Fluency in English & Swedish ACA / CPA / CA / ACCA or equivalent certification Strong technical accounting skills/knowledge of FRS and IFRS Good understanding of VAT and general tax accounting Experience with financial statement reporting obligations, including an understanding of US GAAP, local GAAP Knowledge of local regulatory requirements (at least 2 out of NFA, IFR, HKMA and SFSA), and internal controls Additional Preferred Qualifications: Ability to prepare consolidated financial statements Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills Well organized and able to prioritize conflicting deadlines Real team player with innate desire to contribute to change Attention to detail Hands-on approach A strong desire to exceed expectations Results orientated What’s In It For You?
