Europe,  Middle East and & Africa (EMEA) Controller

The EMEA Controller ensures that the entities under their control operate in an environment of strong internal controls and high standards of financial reporting and accounting compliance. The person is the primary owner of all the US GAAP and legal entity (Statutory) compliance reporting for multiple entities in the region and will work very closely with the Regional Controllership Team and Global/Regional Finance Centers to achieve this objective.

This role reports into the Honeywell Assistant Controller and is a key member of the Controllership and Regional finance leadership team.   Position is an important partner to the regional business, tax and treasury teams. Other key partners include External and Internal Auditors, Corporate Finance and Functional Management and SBG (business) Finance.

 

Main Responsibilities:

·       US GAAP and Statutory accounting compliance

·       Execution of HON Controllership policies and procedures – including responsibilities based on the policies over Non Standard Entries (NSEs) and the Rep Letter processes

·       Statutory procedures will include ensuring timely statutory financial statements for entities with statutory ledgers (separate journal entries and account reconciliations)

Oversee and coordinate internal/external audit procedures. External audit procedures will include ensuring over 200 EMEA audits are planned and executed based on our expected calendar and coordinating global statutory reporting. Oversee remediation of audit observations & ensure strong internal controls environment over entities under positions control

·       Delivery of technical accounting and policy expertise

Liaise with SBG controllers & commercial finance to ensure overall revenue recognition compliance in the region

·       Support Mergers & Acquisitions due diligence, purchase accounting and integration planning

·       Collaboration with tax and treasury on key priorities

Deployment of the statutory initiative (multi-ledger) Oversee and ensure successful deployment of transition /transformation projects in the region

·       Special projects as determined by the HON Asst. Controller

 

 

Basic Qualifications:

·       Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA license/equivalent

·       12+ years of progressive controllership experience in US and International environments

·       12+ years of experience leading a team including writing performance reviews

Preferred Requirements:

·       SAP and Hyperion knowledge

·       Excellent leadership and communications skills

·       Process and change agent expertise.
