The roleThe new member of the Payroll SME team will be responsible to manage the monthly salary processing and ensure to be compliant with the country specific requirements for the respective pay areas. The role involves managing and validating the data for the external service provider, checking payroll results, working with strict timetables to make sure that salaries and statutory payments are processed in an accurate and timely manner. The Payroll SME is expected to be continuously looking for ways to improve and streamline the current processes and keep documentation up to date if changes are required.
Main Responsibilities:
Complete ownership of the payroll processing for the assigned countries
Manage, cooperate and efficiently communicate with payroll vendors
Gather, analyze and validate payroll related data
Ensure accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll for the assigned countries
Analyze payroll results, investigate differences, conduct root cause analysis
Generate and distribute payroll related reports
Complete regular payroll reconciliations to verify eligibility and accuracy
Address and solve discrepancies in collaboration with payroll vendor, HR, Finance teams
Handle queries from employees, HR, and Finance teams in a timely manner
Assist with payroll related audit requests
Create and keep up-to-date payroll process documentation
Participate in process improvement projects
Ideal background:
2 - 3 years of related experience in Payroll/HR/Finance, preferably in a multinational or SSC environment
Fluent spoken and written English is a must
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, even with various levels of management
Able both to take high level perspective and dive into the details
Analytical mindset and striving to fast problem solving
Strong time management, multitasking, and prioritizing skills
Pro-active decision making and critical thinking ability,
Capable of acting independently and with sound judgement
Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
Positive and ‘can-do’ attitude
Experience with Workday, Service-Now, SAP is an advantage
