The Role
As Netflix grows globally, we continue to look for the best and brightest talent to scale with our growth. We are seeking a Payroll leader to support our APAC/EMEA Payroll operations based in our Philippines office. This position will interact with the Global Payroll team across our global offices and will require working in a fast-paced environment for the role.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing end-to-end Payroll operations: data collection, partnership with third-party payroll vendors, check and controls, payments processing, employee queries, Month-end Close, and Reconciliations. He or she will have a solid understanding of Payroll workflows, an ability to partner with technical teams and build strong cross-regional and cross-functional relationships, a deep curiosity and passion for automation and process improvements, and the ability to see a broader picture yet get their hands in the details to contribute to the team’s goals.
Responsibilities:
Netflix Culture Ambassador
Be a Netflix Culture Ambassador for the team and Manage cultural updates and discussions with the teamTeam Management and Development
Focus on talent development, team building, and trainingDevelop team members through coaching and feedbackBe the first point of contact for daily guidance on process queries/clarificationsConduct daily huddles & 1-1 with the teamEvaluate team performance and set goals for the team using KPIs/SLAsManage staff leaves, coverage, and overtime, along with training, and performance evaluationsOperational Oversight
Oversee operations for the countries managed by the team membersMonitor Payroll processing SLAs and conduct analysis for tickets that exceed SLA thresholdsPrepare metrics and review them with Regional leadersManage Payroll operations procedures and ensure compliance with Payroll & SOX ControlsReporting and Compliance
Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial deadlinesAssist with internal/external audit reviews and ensure compliance with SOX guidelinesSupport the team in monthly Payroll close activitiesStrategic Initiatives
Identify opportunities for process improvement, standardization, Discuss with leadership the appropriate policies, procedures, and internal controlsAssist with special projects, including system upgrades and standardizing SOPsRegional Leader’s Support & LiaisonSkills Required:
Experienced people manager at a global company Demonstrates ability to manage a multi-faceted dynamic, and talented team in a fast-paced environment Understanding of U.S. and International GAAP Accounting PrinciplesCustomer-oriented person who focuses on best-in-class communication and, attention to detail, and conflict resolutionExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Excel, Google Suite, and ERP systems (Workday experience a plus)Experience using ticketing tools like Zendesk is a plusA forward-looking thinker who can articulate the need for and implement process improvementsUnderstanding of SOX compliance rules and guidelinesFluent in English, proficient in other languages is a plusEducation and Experience:
