EMEA PR Lead and VP, Global Communications

Kroll is seeking an experienced PR professional with expertise in financial and professional services to join the Communications team. Reporting to the Head of Media Relations, this role supports regional external communications and manages PR agency partners in EMEA. The ideal candidate is a talented writer and storyteller, responsible for enhancing Kroll’s media presence across EMEA by developing strategic communication plans and cultivating relationships with key media outlets. Proficiency in Spanish, French, Italian, and German is a plus. 

Day-to-day responsibilities:

Media Relations and Communications:

Develop and implement creative communications strategies and execute high-impact public relations campaigns to drive increased awareness of the One Kroll brand in EMEA. Able to act as an in-house media relations practitioner, including building relationships with key media contacts, pitching stories, media training, and developing key messages, talking points, and media statements. Build and nurture relationships with key media outlets in London and across EMEA to secure media partnerships for the One Kroll brand. Ability to provide media training to executives and spokespeople for effective communication with the press.

 

Agency Management:

Manage EMEA PR agency relationships, ensuring alignment with Kroll’s global commercial strategy. Collaborate with the marketing team to establish, track, and measure clear goals and KPIs across different countries with agency support.

Crisis Communications:

With the Head of Communications and Head of Media Relations, serve as regional lead during crises, ensuring that cross-functional response and executive teams have support and training and that urgent media opportunities are professionally handled Develop and maintain a crisis communications plan for proactive and reactive issues in collaboration with key leaders across EMEA and the corporate business. Provide counsel to senior executives in EMEA on communications-related initiatives and issues. Conduct regular risk audits to prepare for potential situations that could impact the company’s reputation.

Content Development:

Write and edit content for various channels, including press announcements, ad-hoc regional executive communications, FAQs, and other materials. Develop and distribute EMEA-related press releases, from draft through corporate approvals, translations, distribution, and promotion.

Internal Collaboration:

Maintain strong working relationships across Kroll’s internal cross-functional teams and executives to identify and generate compelling media stories that make an impact. Serve as a thought partner and Communications team liaison to regional teams including Sales, Marketing, and Service-line leaders

Performance Measurement:

Establish and track KPIs to measure the effectiveness of PR campaigns and media relations activities. Prepare regular reports on PR activities, media coverage, and campaign performance for senior management.

Essential traits:

10 + years of proven experience in public relations, preferably within the London market and broadly across the EMEA region. Exceptional project management and time management abilities, must be able to balance demanding workflows and deliver on tight deadlines for complex communications campaigns. Positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to network within a highly matrixed global organization and maintain collaborative relationship. Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills; superior verbal communication skills. Ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Experience in crisis communications and risk management. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners. Proficiency in using PR and media monitoring tools such as Cision and Meltwater.  Proven writing and editing skills; proficiency in AP Style is a plus!
