Position Objective:
Supports the throughput functions of the Emergency Department while providing compassionate, professional customer service. Contributes to the provision of high-quality, cost-effective health care through indirect and direct care of patients in collaboration of other members of the health care team. Completes tasks as delegated by the assigned Emergency Department Charge Nurse and Throughput Nurse.
Essential Job Duties:

Supports nursing staff and patient throughput with patient room turnover, to include following established protocols for cleaning and stocking rooms in between patients.
Supports patient throughput by transporting patients in accordance with established safety policies and in collaboration with care team members. Assists with transfer of patients when necessary. At the direction of the RN, participates in patient care to include vital signs, EKG, Phlebotomy, IV starts, and patient experience rounding.Maintains adequate levels of supplies and equipment in the department and in patient rooms. Engages in departmental process improvement initiatives.Educational/Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Required License/Certifications:
American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS
Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:
Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
