The Pharmacy Department at Backus consists of Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists who work together in a collaborative team environment meeting the needs of our patients. Pharmacists perform functions related to the control, monitoring and dispensing of medications for all age groups of patients according to department procedures and protocols in a safe, cost effective and timely manner. Supervises medication preparation by pharmacy technicians and advises nursing personnel regarding appropriate medication administration. Pharmacists promote the rational use of medications via provision of drug information and clinical monitoring services to members of the medical community. *Education:* •B.S or Pharm.D. Required. PharmD preferred. *Licenses/Certifications:* •Current CT Pharmacist license or eligibility within 45 days *Experience:* * Prior experience as a pharmacist in an emergency department and/or PGY-2 residency in Emergency Medicine preferred. * PGY1 and PG2 Residency experiences or more than 3 years of hospital experience preferred * BCPS preferred * ACLS / BLS certification preferred We take great care of careers.
