As a member of the Emergency Medical Services team, the Emergency Room Technician provides direct and indirect patient care through protocols set by FirstHealth of Carolina to maintain safe and effective patient flow in the Emergency Room. The Emergency Room Technicians works under the supervision of the Emergency Room Charge Nurse and the medical direction of the ER Physician, and is accountable for providing care within established standards of practice. The ER Technician maintains required certifications and skills by participation in continuing education, practical skills testing, and the re-certification processes set by the state of North Carolina and FirstHealth.
QualificationsQualifications: Current North Carolina Emergency Medical Services certification/licensure for Paramedic or Advanced EMT required. At least one (1) year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Current AHA Advanced Life Support (ACLS)-may be obtained within 6 months of employment. AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)-may be obtained within 6 months of employment
