The **Emergency Management - Public Works Planner** will be a member of our firm-s Response Cadre. These are short-term contract positions where candidates selected will be deployed to help respond to ongoing emergencies/disasters. If selected, you will need to travel to the client site, which may be an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) or field site and will be responsible for assisting with emergency response operations planning, coordinating incident objectives, and fulfilling Emergency Support Functions (ESFs). Note that candidates selected must be available to deploy within 24 to 72 hours- notice, and will need to remain onsite, typically for a minimum of 30 days. **Responsibilities for the Emergency Management - Public Works Planner Include:** + Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency plans and procedures, with a specialized focus on the restoration and continuity of essential public works infrastructure and services, including transportation networks, water and wastewater systems, and solid waste management, during and after disruptive events. + Collaborate with public works agencies and departments to integrate their operational plans and resources into broader community emergency response and recovery plans, ensuring seamless coordination and effective deployment of public works assets during emergencies. + Facilitate meetings to assess ongoing emergency response efforts and provide recommendations to leadership to address any concerns. + Monitor and analyze information from various sources to maintain situational awareness and provide timely updates to internal and external stakeholders. + Additional responsibilities as dictated by client needs during ongoing emergency response efforts. **Qualifications for the Emergency Management - Public Works Planner Include:** + Willing and able to be on-call for travel within 24 to 72 hours of notice. + At least seven (7) years of professional experience in emergency management and public works. + Demonstrated experience in emergency management planning, with a specific understanding of the critical role and challenges associated with public works infrastructure and service restoration during emergencies. + Familiarity with public works operations, including transportation systems, utilities (water, wastewater, solid waste), and related infrastructure, and how these systems are impacted by and contribute to emergency situations. + Bachelor-s degree or higher. + Ability to work long shifts, up to 12 hours as needed, based on the client-s operational tempo. **Compensation for the Emergency Management - Public Works Planner Includes:** + Salary range of $88,000 - $150,000.
