As the Emergency Medical Dispatcher, you will receive 9-1-1 calls for medical emergencies, rapidly gather relevant information during the call screening process, provide pre-arrival instructions to the caller when applicable and dispatch an appropriate level of EMS responders. Additional duties include the scheduling and dispatching of ambulances for routine and emergent hospital ambulance transport. Candidates must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment, possess outstanding communication and organizational skills, have the ability to multitask, and are proficient in the utilization of computer-aided dispatch systems (CAD).
Minimum Requirements:
Ideal candidates will have:
Experience in an active 9-1-1 call /dispatch center Completion of 40 hour Massachusetts Telecommunicator Course (mandatory where applicable) EMT certification NIMS 100, 700 Hazmat AwarenessLawrence General Hospital offers competitive compensation and benefits, which include:
