This position is integral to the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) within the PA DOH and operates under the supervision of the EMS Program Manager for Education. In this capacity, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and assessment of educational programs related to Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in the rural areas of Pennsylvania, all while working closely with the Program Manager to ensure the effectiveness and relevance of the training provided. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will oversee the creation and implementation of educational and training programs tailored for pre-hospital emergency medical services (EMS) personnel, as well as key stakeholders such as public health professionals, infectious disease experts, emergency department staff, and healthcare providers. The focus will be on enhancing preparedness for both routine and critical EMS challenges, including disasters, bioterrorism threats, potential infectious disease outbreaks, and other public health emergencies, with a particular emphasis on advancing EMS education in rural Pennsylvania. This position may also involve supporting the public health emergency response initiatives of the Department of Health, with assignments that could arise unexpectedly and last from a few hours to several weeks, depending on the situation. These emergency tasks may require working under challenging conditions and traveling to locations outside of the employee's primary worksite. You will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of the vulnerable populations served by the organization by identifying their needs and advocating for appropriate resources, services, and effective communication strategies.
