Emergency Medical Tech I- PRN
Community Health Systems
Respond to and mitigate medical emergencies by providing basic life support (BLS) care to patients in which the team member assesses and rules out injury and illness. Transport and transfer patients to the appropriate destinations for definitive or continued care. Provide thorough examinations of each patient and obtain pertinent information and history while administering proper care and interventions within the scope of the provider. Utilize necessary medical equipment and supplies to provide quality care to each patient. Communicate with varying entities to ensure proper care and mitigation of each call to service. Perform a variety of tasks daily to ensure the success of the department and the department’s operations. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to the Shift Captain.
**Required** :
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Indiana State - EMT or equivalent
+ BLS certified
+ NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 (within 6 months of hire)
+ Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
**Preferred:**
+ Emergency Vehicle Driving Training (CEVO or EVOC or equivalent)
+ 1 year experience in pre-hospital care
