EMT - Critical Care Transport
JOB SUMMARY
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Critical Care Transport assumes responsibility for individual professional actions and judgments, during both independent and dependent emergency functions. This individual functions independently while applying the skills of the certified EMT in an ambulance setting. The Critical care level based on training and under the supervision of the critical care team. Advanced EMT skills in the ambulance setting are under the direction of a physician.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONFor positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Graduate of an accredited program for the training of Emergency Medical Technician EMTs.
Preferred/Optional: Basic or Advanced EMT licensure.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional: Minimum three months 911 level EMS operations
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSESThe following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required:
Current Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license, with renewal as dictated by State of Wisconsin. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as verified through appropriate licensing agency. Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to MCHS's insurer.Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification (EVOC), Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO), or Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVDT) within two years of hire.Preferred/Optional: Advanced EMT licensure. Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification (EVOC), Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO), or Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVDT) at the time of hire.
Advanced EMT - Critical Care Transport
JOB SUMMARY
The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) - Critical Care Transport assumes responsibility for individual professional actions and judgments, during both independent and dependent emergency functions. This individual functions independently while applying the skills of the certified AEMT in an ambulance setting. Pre-hospital 911 and inter facility critical care transport of sick and injured patients by ambulance as needed dependent on primary base location. The critical care level based on training and under the supervision of the critical care team.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: High School diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) training program.
Preferred/Optional: None
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Demonstrated proficiency with administering complex treatment, maintaining composure under pressure, and communicating to individuals in stressful situations. Proficient with reading, writing and speaking English.
Preferred/Optional: 911 level EMS operations
