Job Summary Job Summary Performs emergency and stabilizing procedures using protocols as directed by the EMS Medical Director. Responds to emergency and routine requests for transportation to and from medical facilities. Works well with other employees, health care providers, and public safety officials and maintains a patient or customer service focus. Provides didactic and clinical instruction to coworkers, health care providers or the public as needed. Provides documentation and records as appropriate. Maintains equipment, supplies and facilities. Performs related tasks as required. ET 3 Skills and Processes. Adheres to all NRHS policies, procedures and work place rules including but not limited to attendance, tardiness, meal and break times, overtime, safety, etc. Demonstrates flexibility in working hours to meet staffing needs of the department according to fluctuating workload. Takes responsibility for call and call back duties, being furloughed or: opted off" working additional hours or more hours other than regular hours. Attends 75% of staff meetings and employee forums. Adheres to infection control policy IP 1414 Hand Hygiene. Adheres and supports the culture and values of the (WI/WO) Wash In / Wash Out initiative. Qualifications FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) Modules 100, 200, and 700 preferred but must be completed prior to the end of departmental orientation. Haz Mat Operations regarded favorably. Previous experience in emergency vehicle operations is preferred. Currently Attending Paramedic School Preferred Education Completion of EMT Basic Program or EMT Intermediate Program. Minimum requirement is completion of requirements for licensure recognized by the Oklahoma State Department of Health in accordance with EMS regulations. Preferred Licensure/Certification/Registration/Professional Designation ETC Must be at least 21 years of age in order to be insured by NRH carrier. Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license. Must remain insurable by the NRHS/EMSStat vehicle insurance company by maintaining a good driving record and meeting any other requirement as set forth in the policy. Current Oklahoma license as a Basic or Intermediate (Advanced) EMT. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training required during orientation is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment. Work Shift Day
