UPMC Cole is a modern, progressive non-profit healthcare system located in Coudersport, Pennsylvania, with a service area covering 55,000 people living in six counties in North Central Pennsylvania and Western New York. The 25-bed critical access hospital is a modern facility located on a large, well-maintained campus and represents the majority of medical and surgical specialties. The hospital is equipped with four newly built or renovated operating rooms, ten obstetrics suites, a six-bed ICU, a newly constructed ten-bed emergency department, and a 44-bed long-term care facility. Due to its remote location, the hospital has transfer arrangements with multiple facilities within a 20-minute helicopter flight. This high-quality and fiscally-sound facility includes a clinically-sound staff centered on excellent patient care. Almost all physicians on staff are employed by UPMC Cole.

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT (ED) DESCRIPTION:

Annual volume approximates 10,000 patient visits. The ED is staffed with one physician using 12 & 24-hour shifts (7am to 7pm). A 24-hour Hospitalist service is onsite for patients needing to be admitted or observed.

FINANCIAL PACKAGE:

Hospital employment or Independent Contractor to the hospital.  Initial agreement 36-month term; will consider longer terms. A signing bonus, retention bonus, or combination of both is negotiable. Bonuses are aligned with a hospital goal. For example, a retention bonus must extend the commitment for at least two years past the initial term. The employment contract contains reasonable non-compete and confidentiality terms.
