Job Description:
Reviews patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.Focuses on the immediate decision-making and action necessary to prevent death or any further disability both in the prehospital setting by directing emergency medical technicians and in the emergency department.Provides immediate recognition, evaluation, care, stabilization and disposition of a generally diversified population of adult and pediatric patients in response to acute illness and injury.Provides education, consultation or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families.Works collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.Practices in a thoughtful manner including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy and legal responsibilities.Charts in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope.Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management.May provide care in an ambulatory clinic, inpatient or outpatient hospital setting.Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, or work flows.May participate in peer review and quality assurance.Job RequirementsMD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required.Completion of 2 years emergency medicine residency, in good standing with residency and compliance with moonlighting regulationsActive, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicableACLS/BLS, ATLS or CALS, PALSPhysical DemandsMedium Work*:Lifting weight Up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), Up to 25 lbs. frequentlyPay Range
