The Emergency Response Team (ERT) Officer provides a highly visible armed security presence to Cache Creek Casino Resort. Acting as a visual deterrent, the ERT Officer intervenes and responds to various security and emergency situations, such as acts or threats of violence and life safety threats. The ERT Officer aims to mitigate incidents by detecting and disrupting criminal conduct or other undesirable activities early on.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Proactively recognize and manage emergency situations, including acts of violence, crises, weapons or explosive incidents, natural disasters, and various hazards endangering lives or property. Utilize appropriate escalation of force, up to and including armed response, following established protocols.Assist in emergency situations by securing the scene to prevent further loss or damage, advise personnel of threats and potential threats, summon emergency responders to the incident, and initiate and conduct evacuation procedures.Conduct covert surveillance operations if required.Render appropriate first aid to injured persons and follow established protocol for reporting injuries.Safeguard and maintain highly sensitive and confidential information.Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices, and weapons.Follow directions and/or orders from supervisory personnel, particularly during an active shooter, assault, or other similar situation.Ability to physically engage with a person who is threatening others and accurately handle and shoot a firearm.Identify potential compliance risks and take necessary actions to eliminate or minimize them.Respond calmly to crisis and stressful situations and make rational decisions when addressing guest and employee issues.Lead by example, employ the “Three Es” of guest service, and follow the R.I.C.H. core values (Respect, Integrity, Commitment and Humility).

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); five years’ experience in armed casino security experience, armed tribal security experience, investigation experience, or law enforcement experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Internal applicants must be a current employee of the Cache Creek Casino Resort Security Department with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations with guests and other employees. Ability to write detailed reports and provide court testimony when necessary. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Age Requirement
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Other Requirements
Must possess their own firearm. The Security department will provide a list of authorized firearms
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Cache Creek Casino Resort Tribal Gaming License
Red Cross First Aid & CPR Certificate
Annual certification in firearms
Completion of the Security Department’s Firearms Course
Completion of the Security Department’s Defense and Detention Course
Must pass all firearms, defense and written testing required for the position within the first 80 days of appointment/employment.
