Emergency Services Dispatcher Lead
Overview **This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP** Under the supervision of the Emergency Services Dispatch Supervisor, the Emergency Services Dispatch Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily duties and training of the Emergency Services Dispatcher and will function as a call-taker telecommunicator by receiving, recording, and effectively managing requests for Fire and Emergency Services responses. Dispatches emergency personnel to situations requiring critical response. Provides pre-arrival medical instructions to callers. May contact emergency personnel to verify assignment locations. Complete tasks as assigned by the Emergency Services Dispatch Supervisor Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. Leads the Emergency Services Dispatcher Team Responsible for receiving, recording, and effectively managing requests for Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services responses. Dispatches emergency personnel to situations requiring critical response. May contact emergency personnel to verify assignment locations. Provides pre-arrival medical instructions to callers. Performs other duties as assigned Receives cross-training to provide support for desk operations Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must provide a copy of the diploma. Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) Must be a U.S. Citizen Must have an active Secret Clearance American Heart Association CPR Telecommunicator I/II Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Certification Experience: Minimum one (1) years experience as a Police, Fire, EMS Dispatcher Skills Ability to communicate clearly on the radio and telephone. Ability to record, transmit, and report information accurately. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Must type a minimum of 35 words per minute. Working Conditions Employee is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity. Employee is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level. Employee is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. Physical Requirements Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
