Emergency Services Providers Director

Job Summary

Serve as the director for certain CAMC offsite departments and as the liaison with Medical Management Services' "external customers." The incumbent will be responsible for planning, directing, developing and coordinating the programs, services, and activities needed to further CAMC goal of developing and supporting our surgical specialties.

 

Responsibilities

Provide oversight to Practice Manager to:*
1) Build continuum of ED Services to meet CAMC needs.
2) Develop, plan, direct, and organize the activities of the department.
3) Develop goals in line with CAMC corporate goals and the vision of the appropriate Boards of Directors.
4) Develop and propose the annual operating budget.
5) Analyze productivity, patient flow, and identify system barriers, and correct to ensure maximum productivity.
6) Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
7) Serve as liaison between physicians and Medical Management Services to address customer service issues.
8) Support the development of strong referral relationships with local doctors.
9) Monitor patient satisfaction of the department and develop plans to improve satisfaction.
10) Serve as consultant to assess operational issues for external customers and address other concerns of the partners facilities come up. Represent the Ambulatory initiative.
11) Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations. Serve as a positive representative of the MMS management team to our customers, .
12) Supports dyad leadership model with ED Medical Director
13) Supports Academic mission of program
14) Stays focused on access, cost, quality, patient satisfaction and employee engagement metrics.
15) Fellowship Program:
a. Directs development of specific short and long-range programs and project plans to obtain corporate objectives. R
b. esponsible for the planning and coordination of ED department Advanced Practitioners and Physicians in daily activities, the operational efficiency and effectiveness as well as major impact on all other hospital areas.
c. Interviews and selects a qualified number of personnel as required to meet department objectives.
d. Ensures hiring practices conform to appropriate Affirmative Action/EEO practices and regulations.
e. Provides direction to the clinical directors for performance reviews performance of Advanced Practitioners and Physicians and approves staff evaluations.
f. Provides direction for appropriate disciplinary action of staff members as needed.
g. Oversees the prioritization of projects and directs resources to ensure the attainment of corporate goals.
h. Responsible for ensuring the department meets and adheres to all applicable federal, state, DNV, and local regulatory agency requirements and for ensuring the department and facilities success in any regulatory survey.
i. Participates on various committees and other task forces as may be established by management to plan, organize and drive the success of emergency services.
j. Directs and/or participates in regular discussions and reviews on a variety of diverse/complex issues including financial and administrative matters, which have hospital-wide impact.
k. Responsible for making decisions required to maintain acceptable operations based on strategic goals and policies.
l. Displays ingenuity and foresight in determining the most appropriate solution.
m. Confers with other department directors when necessary to resolve procedural difficulties, clarifying department responsibilities, objectives and resolving identified problems.
n. Direct, reviews and analyzes progress and performance of contract services personnel.
o. Makes recommendation on contract initiation, renewals and termination.
p. Actively seeks ways to control costs without comprising patient safety, quality of care or the services delivered.
q. Supports dyad leadership model with ED Services Medical Director(s).
r. Supports Academic mission of program.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact)

The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

Competency Statement

Education 

• Master's Degree (Required) Experience: 7-10 years hospital or physician practice experience with at least 5 of those years in a leadership role Substitution: May substitute Bachelor's degree with 10 years hospital or physician practice experience and at least 7 years in a leadership role for the master's degree and 7-10 years experience
