The EHS Emergency Services Technician at Micron Technology, Inc., is responsible for providing initial response to emergency events, coordinating intervention/mitigation efforts, and ensures proper follow-up and documentation. This role also routinely inspects safety equipment site wide. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Safety & Quality:

Completes all required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron and Technology Development (TD) safety policiesStops work for safety if unsafe conditions and/or behaviors are identifiedApplies and reviews job hazard analysis (JHA/JSA) for work being performedFollows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations including PPE, CoHE (lockout /tagout) and chemical safetyFollows-up on safety and quality related issues immediately and works towards resolution with partnersActively participates in the EHS program by reporting all EHS-related concerns or problems immediately (maximum 24 hours)Performs and facilitates audits and submits good catchesAlways wears appropriate PPE, per JHA, Supervisor, EHS professionals, and/or job designationProactively finds opportunities to reduce potential hazards which may impact personnel health and/or the environmentUses proper lifting techniques and works in an ergonomically correct mannerFollows proper change management practices to ensure safety and quality expectations are metDrives quality improvement initiatives in their area to reduce Fab impacts, improve efficiency and identify cost savingsOperates and maintains equipment and tools within manufacturer’s and company guidelines to ensure safety and quality expectations are metEnsures area-specific procedures and documents exist and submits updates to content when neededProtects and safeguards employees and company resources


Communication & Teamwork:

Makes recommendations related to preventative maintenance and other non-routine issuesCollaborates with areas leaders to create personal performance and development goalsPartners with key team members to supervise data to continuously improve critical metricsPartners with team members to resolve equipment/process issues and maximize system stabilityCommunicates proactively with leaders and collaborators on the daily priorities and issuesAttends and participates in meetings, critiques and provides inputEnsures pass down is accurate and reflects the current work statusCollaborates with area leaders and collaborators to gather input for area improvementCommunicates changes made to equipment and follows business rules for change controlProactively communicates issues that could cause Fab impact, defects, tool restrictions, or lost movesMaintains communication on shift, with leadership across the siteProvides direction to all response personnel during an emergency responseSupports 24/7 operations through various overtime programs


Project Management/Planning:

Supports or handles area projects to ensure deliverables are completed within required scope and scheduleParticipates or leads project meetings and completes assigned actionsPartners with leader to prioritize project action itemsMonitors actions and offers a pathway to address critical issues and ensure timely resolutionUses a systematic project management methodology to develop, prioritize and handle projects

Technical/Data Analysis:

Independently performs technical tasksFollows general instructions on new assignmentsWorks on assignments that are semi-routine in natureApplies judgement in quickly resolving routine problemsTroubleshoots problems where reference materials are availableApplies limited judgment in resolving non-routine problemsMonitors, analyzes and addresses issues for area processes each shiftSupports and monitors area processes and advances any issues that arise.Monitors equipment to resolve equipment issues and improve system stabilitySupports area cost reduction activitiesProvides effective and timely support to resolve equipment issuesResponds to life safety alarm conditionsIdentifies and reduces equipment defects to improve qualityDrives a culture of TPM including TPM metrics, CIP items, MTAGs, and proceduresMaintains applicable subject area knowledge, such as EMT skills, Hazmat and confined space rescue, etc.Responds to medical, chemical leaks/spills, gas releases, Hazmat, and confined space rescue eventsDocuments events in appropriate Micron documentation event tracking system, such as Enablon and SAPCompletes all assigned PMs and work orders in a timely and thorough mannerMaintains tools and response equipment in good working orderFunctions as Emergency Response Team (ERT) Captain


Qualifications:

Intermediate PC skills including a familiarity with MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPointProven track record to follow procedures and work with minimal supervisionFlexible with job responsibilities and shift assignmentsShown time management, organization, and prioritization skillsProven track record to multi-task in a high-paced environmentProven track record to communicate effectivelyStrong partnering and collaboration skillsProven strong written and verbal communication skillsProven critical thinking skillsProven ability to continuously learn and self-improveAbility to become certified as an Emergency Medical TechnicianAbility to become respiratory certified in SCBA, SKA, and APRAbility to become Hazmat certifiedAbility to become certified in confined space rescue


Education and Experience:

Required: Emergency Medical Technician License, or equivalent experience in the field of studyPreferred: Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree as an Emergency Services TechnicianArea: EHS/Emergency Services
