Job Description - Conduct a comprehensive review of all ongoing projects within the medical system, including those involving diagnostic and predictive analytics, machine learning, generative AI, process automation, and other emerging technologies. - Evaluate how emerging technology initiatives are identified, approved, and evaluated for impacts and return on investment - Evaluate how potential solutions are screened, de-risked from a performance, support, and implementation standpoint, and how total cost of ownership is determined - Determine how decisions are made to buy vs build solutions, when to partner with industry to co-develop solutions, and how competing products and platforms are evaluated - Identify strengths, weaknesses, and gaps in the current support infrastructure Operational Efficiency - Streamlining operations in departments such as finance, health system capacity management, radiology, pathology, and perioperative services Technology Assessment and Benchmarking - Identify emerging technology products and/or platforms with proven track records of realizing value in key organizational domains of interest (e.g., revenue cycle management) - Investigate industry leaders in the adoption of health technologies and identify benchmark practices for evaluation, adoption, and measurement of impact/ROI Risk and Feasibility - Identify potential risks associated with emerging technologies - Examine current technologies in medical, operational, and administrative contexts including internal and vendor-sourced solutions and platforms - Assessing the maturity of these applications and the potential benefits and risks associated with their deployment, including ethical, regulatory, and data security considerations. - Providing recommendations on how generative AI, Machine Learning, RPM, and other emerging technologies can be further integrated into clinical and operational workflows, while ensuring compliance with industry standards, policies, and new California state and Federal laws.
