Element has an opportunity for a EMI Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. We are a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification services for a variety of materials and products. Our Boucherville laboratory specializes in Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) testing, ensuring that electronic devices comply with industry standards and function properly in various electromagnetic environments. We conduct emission and immunity testing, shielding effectiveness assessments, and radio frequency interference (RFI) evaluations for a wide range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, telecommunications, and consumer electronics. Our advanced testing capabilities include the use of anechoic chambers, spectrum analyzers, and high-power amplifiers to assess product performance under real-world conditions.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Technician to join our team in Boucherville. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting EMI/EMC emission and immunity testing on various electrical systems and their components, ensuring their compliance with industry standards. Working hours are from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with the possibility of eventually transitioning to the first shift.
Responsibilities
- Perform EMI/EMC emission and immunity testing of electrical systems and their components for consumer and commercial applications.
- Read, interpret, and work from technical drawings as well as controlled documentation and processes.
- Design and fabricate electro-mechanical assemblies, harnesses, and test fixtures from conceptual drawings.
- Operate spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers (VNA), power meters, high-power amplifiers, and oscilloscopes.
- Conduct antenna and shielding effectiveness measurements.
Skills / Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with EMI/EMC testing and associated measurement equipment.
- Strong skills in reading and interpreting technical schematics.
- Ability to design and assemble test fixtures and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in French; knowledge of English is an asset.
