In this position… 

Allen Park Test Laboratory Operations is seeking an individual with emission testing experience in particulate matter measurement to help the laboratory meet the new .5 mg/mile regulatory standard and background in EV technology to ensure PHEV/xHEV compliance within laboratory operations. The prospective individual will be responsible for lab oversight and test systems readiness for Global requirements of EPA, CARB & EURO Certification & Development emission testing.  The prospective candidate should have a minimum of 7 years chassis dynamometer emission testing, analytical equipment operation experience and direct experience with particulate measurement processes and procedures.

Minimum

Education, Working knowledge or direct experience in the following:

BS, Chemistry or related degree in a technical discipline  Basic Analytical Chemistry 5+ Years of experience with data analysis and data verification

Particulate measurement and weigh room processes and procedures Certification and Development emissions testing and process Basic statistical analysis for process control  VETS, MEXA & ELMS process and operation Diesel and gas emissions testing processes Customer focus mindset required Proven ability to handle tasks independently Motivated/Self starter Proven ability to participate and lead in a team environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills

What you'll do… 

Develop new procedures and processes for vehicle particulate measurement to meet 0.5 mg/mi standard Lead efforts to achieve best in class process variation associated with PM efforts  Mentor new and junior engineers & technicians in test process Support Engineering, Operations and Site Support personnel as necessary to meet customer needs Identify Best-in class measurement systems to ensure tight control of PM measurement Provide technical oversight of PM weigh room “clean room” processes Provided technical support and data analysis for particulate matter (PM) measurement equipment including DMM, MSS, APC, EEPS, gravimetric filters and Dekati e-Filter sensors Support power-train emissions development, U.S. Certification, Homologation, and VE problem resolution Support HEV & PHEV development / certification through the design of test procedures / facilities / equipment to efficiently and effectively meet requirements Support the development of new test methodologies required to meet emissions and fuel economy requirements Deliver financial objectives of the department(s) and the team
