The Genentech Employee and Community Engagement team within the Corporate Communications team is seeking a seasoned employee and communications professional who is passionate about shaping the employee experience and culture. The right individual will have a strategic, enterprise mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organization to develop and execute comprehensive employee engagement programs, leading cultural engagement efforts that align with company priorities and values and developing innovative ways to engage and inspire employees to action. The right individual will bring communications and employee engagement expertise, energy and innovative solutions to our programs and team. It’s a fast-paced role within an experienced and high-performing team. The position requires someone who is a systems-thinker, strategic, creative and highly collaborative.
This role is based in SSF at the Genentech Campus; Presence needed onsite in SSF.

Key Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include leading, developing or guiding team members to deliver a variety of communications and engagement plans and solutions, from simple activities to more complex programs. This role offers the opportunity to work with teams that aim to create the optimal employee experience at Genentech:
Oversee the design, strategy and delivery of a portfolio of complex employee and community engagement communications, programs and large-scale events that cultivate our culture, bring the business narrative and Our Promise to life, maintain our license to operate and inspire employees to advance on our collective mission and enterprise priorities.
Create, develop and lead complex, innovative employee programs and experiences -- shaping and designing the direction of new programming content and experiences.
Serve as the program management lead and or sponsor of complex GNE-wide employee and community engagement experiences, including multi-channel communications and company-wide events.
Develop comprehensive program and communication plans, oversee work streams & partners coordination, lead and develop project communications and effectively manage budget
Drive listening, measurement and reporting strategy across ECE department and in partnership with key stakeholders across the GNE organization; Develop and implement program-specific KPIs to measure the effectiveness of employee communication and programs and achieve maximum impact
Lead within the Corporate Communications function and critical enterprise-wide & community forums relevant to the work; shape and partner on the direction of the ECE department strategy and capabilities building; Serve as a key communication and engagement advisor for the GNE organization and a steward of the culture
Foster deep collaboration and partnership across the organization and beyond to understand, influence and act to advance the Genentech employee experience
Stay current on latest communication and engagement and volunteerism trends and company culture, integrating learnings and experimenting with new programs, formats, channels and approaches

Required Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is required
You have at least 10 years of communication, employee giving and employee engagement experience
High-level proficiency in Google applications (gCal, gDoc, gSlides, etc)
Impeccable ethics and integrity
People management experience
Experience advising and supporting high-level C-suite executives
Solid understanding of employee communications, employee engagement, volunteerism channels and large-scale event management strategy
Expertise in building and executing complex strategies and programs for employees, communication campaigns and events
Preferred Qualifications
Marketing communications experience

Highly skilled at managing multiple new, complex, large-scale, cross-functional workstreams and projects that may include both internal and external stakeholders
Highly skilled at managing programs and large-scale events at a portfolio level

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, California $167,300/yr to $310,700/yr . Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
