We are seeking a highly motivated, and detail-oriented Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits Paralegal to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, be eager to learn, possess excellent technical skills, and be a motivated team player. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with our attorneys and clients on a variety of complex legal matters in a supportive environment.
This role can have a hybrid work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Responsibilities:
Organize, update and maintain department documents, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible.Create and maintain project plans. Assist with creation, maintenance of timeline of tasks and assist team in monitoring and meeting timeline.Conduct legal research and critical analysis on assigned issues, relevant laws and regulations, including developments in case law, SEC guidance, ERISA, IRC, and DOL guidelines.Assist attorneys in the preparation of presentations, Committee materials and training materials.Assist attorneys in the preparation and review of executive compensation and benefits plans, including stock plans, health and welfare plans, retirement plans and participant communications.Assist attorneys in the preparation of the minutes, the proxy, the10K and other SEC filings.Coordinate with clients and third-party administrators to ensure compliance with legal requirements and timely submission of filings.Update team on industry trends, case law and developments in benefits and executive compensation law.Qualifications:
Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Xcel, Powerpoint, Pilot), iManage, and legal research databases (e.g., Bloomberg, LexisNexis).Familiarity with AI-enabled technology.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Proven project management skills.Collaborative, proactive, team-oriented work style.Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.Willingness to develop knowledge in new areas and commitment to continuous improvement.College degree or other appropriate certification (e.g., paralegal certification) preferred.3+ years paralegal experience. Paralegal experience in corporate law, benefits and/or executive compensation is a plus.What We Offer:

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$71,520 - $123,360The posted salary range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
