Serengeti Breweries Limited (SBL) is a fully integrated beverage business in Diageo Africa (supply and demand for beer and spirits).
SBL flagship brand is Serengeti Premium Lager. Other brands in the portfolio include Serengeti Lite, Guinness, Pilsner and SIB. Headquartered in Dar es Salaam, SBL is also the distributor of several global Diageo international world-class spirits brands such as Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Gordon’s, Bailey’s and Captain Morgan.
Purpose of role
The Employee Experience Lead will be a member of HR leadership. The lead will work with the Directors on resourcing and employee experience.
The position holder will provide high level support to all functional heads through proactive, needs-driven and responsive Human Resources interventions of the highest quality to ensure a high-performance culture.
Key accountabilities
Support the delivery of end-to-end Employee Experience
Assisting employees with enrolment in benefits programs, such as health insurance and retirement savings. Ensure that all joiners are enrolled, and all leavers have been removed from existing benefit programmes.Conducting inductions or trainings on benefits to employees and/or promoting employee health and wellness activitiesEstablish and manage professional business relationship with service providers and insurance companies. Attend monthly HR supplier performance reviews. Carry out HR audits on 3rd party HR suppliers (Medical, Group life and accident and RBS).Budgeting and Accounting for the total cost to company of various benefits options.Ensuring that the company's benefits policy complies with laws and regulations. Update policies where necessary.Research, identify and execute creative solutions and best practices to enable process improvement on benefits administration.Immigration Management - Manage all immigration related processes, queries, worker eligibility document applications/renewals for employees and their dependents in liaison with the appointed Diageo 3rd Party providers, Global Mobility, and government agencies.Work with the reward team with management of employee related benefits such as Employee Share Save Scheme (ESS)Employee Value Proposition and Employer Brand
Propose programmes that deliver a strong internal value proposition that drives engagement & endearment of employees.Create opportunities for internal employer branding through the use of targeted two-way employee communication platforms.Develop and maintain an online database of the full employee value proposition including benefits and rewards that an employee can access.Industrial Relations & governance
Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.Managing HR controls and ensure compliance to COBC, labour law and code of good practice.Employee engagement
In collaboration with business leaders drive people survey action plansDrive employee recognition initiatives and engagement agenda at function/company level.Support employee engagement processes by supporting the HRD and HRBP at the town halls, quarterly and trade union meetings, enabling effective negotiation and consultation with trade union representatives in regard to a range of staffing matters.Ensure that assigned HR policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and continue to reflect both up-to-date employment law and best practice.Qualifications and Experience Required
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in HRM, industrial or organizational psychology, leadership & organizational development, business, or related field required.Post Graduate qualifications will be an added advantage.Experience:
2 - 3 years’ experience as a HR Advisor in a reputable organizationLeadership of team operating in complex, multi-channelled settingsStrong knowledge & demonstrated delivery in challenging trading environments.Negotiation and conflict resolution.Diversity statement
