Employee Experience Manager (HR Operations)

The Employee Experience Manager is a pivotal member of our Talent & Culture team at Woodward.  This role will lead and manage all HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance while ensuring that all processes align with organizational objectives and legal requirements at Woodward West.  Reporting directly to the Senior Camp Director, the Employee Experience Manager will play a key part in promoting a positive employee and candidate experience.

Located at Woodward West, this is a year-round opportunity with a performance-based incentive program and a robust benefit package including health, dental, vision, 401K match plan and more. The proposed annual salary is $68,640.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Employee Experience:

Manage the recruitment, interviews, and background checks of candidates to ensure timely and efficient processing to fill vacant positions

Develop and implement employee engagement incentive programs by selecting appropriate rewards, and measuring program effectiveness to enhance employee motivation, retention, and overall job satisfaction.

Lead day-to-day employee housing operations.

Execute on employee engagement surveys.

Administer and help manage workers' compensation claims by coordinating with employees, healthcare providers, and insurance carriers, ensuring a smooth resolution process.

Process and report employee grievances promptly. Advise management on the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues and see through to a resolution.

Plan and conduct employee orientations to foster a positive attitude and understanding of the company, its goals, and its policies and procedures.

Facilitate employee events.

Culture of Learning:

Plan and conduct training including team building, interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, safety, diversity, discrimination, and sexual harassment.

Ensure that employees are equipped with the skills and knowledge to advance both individually and organizationally.

Remain up to date on California labor code and FLSA pay practices and ensure the resort is compliant.

Operational Excellence:

Provide necessary advice, counsel, and guidance to management and employees to ensure the goals of the business are met.

Oversee administration of payroll and benefits including auditing, reporting and process improvement.

Ensure claims for unemployment benefits are handled quickly.

Own the process of creating /updating job descriptions yearly.

Use initiative and judgment in making decisions, keeping with the company’s best interests.

Engage with external Human Resources partners including Global / Corporate teams

Authority to initiate, record and administer Corrective Actions.

Foster a collaborative work environment that supports management education, ongoing communications, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Work with the management team to foster an environment with open communication and fair and consistent treatment for all employees.

Lead the local leadership team by providing guidance, fostering professional development, and ensuring alignment with HR best practices and organizational objectives.
