Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Employee Health Nurse to join our healthcare team in Towson, United States. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and implementing comprehensive employee health programs while ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.

Conduct pre-employment physical examinations and health screeningsManage workers' compensation cases and maintain accurate documentationImplement and monitor infection control protocolsProvide emergency medical care and first aid services as neededCoordinate employee vaccination programs and maintain immunization recordsDevelop and conduct health education programs for employeesPerform workplace safety assessments and injury prevention initiativesManage employee medical surveillance programsCoordinate with external healthcare providers and insurance carriersEnsure compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain required documentationCompany Description

QualificationsCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) license requiredBachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferredOccupational Health Nursing Certification preferredCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certifications3-5 years of occupational health nursing experience preferredDemonstrated experience in workers' compensation case managementProficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systemsStrong knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance requirementsExcellence in clinical assessment and case management skillsExperience in developing and implementing employee wellness programsStrong understanding of infection control protocolsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to maintain confidential medical informationExperience in emergency response and first aid proceduresAdditional Information

Quality and Patient Safety:

Demonstrates diligence in ensuring the safety of the clinical environment for staff, patients and visitors.Demonstrates knowledge, practice, and accountability for compliance with the TJC National Patient Safety Goals.Detects, reports, and takes action to avoid or correct employee and visitor safety risks.Reports adverse events and near misses to appropriate management authority.Educates staff in flu vaccine rationale to promote participation and infection prevention.Advocates, provides consultative guidance and incorporates safe lifting techniques, body mechanics and other injury preventive strategies necessary in daily practice.Contributes expertise to promote employee, visitor and patient safety throughout the organization by participation in relevant councils and committees and other workgroups as assigned or requested. Advocates and reinforces safe sharps handling and related blood borne exposure practices and policies.

Cost Effectiveness:

Proactively seeks opportunities to improve employee health compliance, reduced work absence, reduced employee injuries and prevent care delays.Effectively sets priorities and demonstrates efficient time management skills.Adjusts schedule to meet identified needs of the persons served related to employee health initiatives, employee participation and education.Identifies and recommends new technologies and processes that reduce the cost of care or improve patient / employee health outcomes.

Education and Research:

 Assumes responsibility for maintaining and upgrading competency and clinical knowledge base related to role.identifies and addresses learning needs of self and fellow staff.Attends required in-services. Completes written training exercises.

Supports and guides participation in approved research projects.

Compensation
