Employee Health & Safety Supervisor
Overview Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Supervisor. Responsibilities Ensure compliance to PepsiCo Global Environmental Health & Safety Standards (GEHSMS): Assist in providing leadership for the implementation, enforcement and continuous improvement of the Sites environmental policies and processes. Support Safety/Environmental programs owners and coordinate quarterly program reviews. Coordinate Environmental audits & assessments to achieve a ‘Best in Class’ status. Support Internal Environmental Compliance Agenda to include: Adhere to the Environmental Compliance Protocol and engage and develop team members to take active roles in the various programs laid out in the protocol. Conduct Environmental Investigations for Spill and Exceedance and other environmental incidents. These CAPA (Corrective Action Preventive Action) investigations should identify and remove root causes to program exceedances and provide recommendations for process, procedure, and/or equipment changes to eliminate future occurrences. Facilitate, perform, and/or lead the required site compliance inspections and ensure they are timely and performed at the correct frequency Also ensure issues are communicated and addresses in a timely. Maintain the site’s Objectives and Targets and Aspects and Impacts documentation based upon the ongoing review and enhancements to the site’s environmental program. Review all planned functional and structural changes to the site such as Capital Projects to ensure compliance to the Environmental program and regulations. Help develop and participate in the site PEP+ Green Team. Provide training support for current employees and new hire onboarding. Act as site administrator for the MyEHS, My SDS, and other environmental systems to include ownership of the Environmental calendar and on-time task and action plan execution. Lead Environmental Projects and Volunteer opportunities and events for the PEP+ Green Team. Participate in Audits and Inspections of the Site. Attend Internal as well as external training events and keep informed and up to date as to changes in regulatory requirements. Adjust site programs to comply with these changes accordingly. Assist in developing the sites business plan to continually improve Environmental Compliance at the Site. Communicate internally and externally. Work with vendors and contractors to ensure compliance to Frito Lay EHS standards and coordinate applicable inspections. Ensure compliance with all issued permits and applicable Local, State, Federal (EPA, SCAQMD, IEUA, LACSD, DTSC, CUPA, etc) and other related regulatory requirements to include required documentation and reporting. Assist with tracking and supporting employee safety cases as needed. Compensation & Benefits: The expected compensation range for this position is between $50,600 - $75,950. Qualifications Educational level preferred: Bachelors Degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or closerly related fields. 3-5 years of experience in positions in environmental compliance or occupational safety is required. 1-2 years of experience managing a team is preferred. Candidates with strong background experience may be considered, however Bachelors Degree is preferred. Candidates without a Bachelors Degree must have a validated experience of 6-8 years in progressively responsible and diverse positions in environmental compliance or occupational safety. Familiarity with State and Federal environmental agencies, environmental permitting. Technical knowledge of Environmental management Systems. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Office. Data trend analysis. Ability to work without supervision. Ability to travel occasionally. Ability to work effectively within a Team. Must be able to flex schedule as needed to include overtime, holidays, weekends, and other shifts. Must be able to work safely. Other duties as assigned.
