Employee Onboarding Nurse RN (PRN)

Responsibilities:
Customer Relations Demonstrates employee focus and strives to exceed expectations for customer service Nursing Role Administers required Drug-screening tests. Administers TB screening process. Provides basic first aid as needed. Administers influenza shots and other vaccinations to staff as needed. Participates in the annual Residential TB program. Responds to overhead paged medical emergency calls as needed. Administers first aide as needed. Documentation & Communication Maintains and updates drug screening, TB testing and vaccination records in the Empath HRIS. Tracks and follows up with non-compliant employees through reports, alerting HR staff for follow up, or by directly contacting employees for follow up. Communicates effectively with Human Resources and Recruitment staff to manage the medical components of the on-boarding process for new employees, contractors and volunteers. Educational Support Educates employees about the benefits of obtaining the Hepatitis B and Flu vaccinations. As needed, assist the Wellness Coordinator in Wellness initiatives. Assists the Infection Control Coordinator in duties such as providing employee education when needed.Requires:
Work requires knowledge of nursing theory, principles, and practice acquired through graduation from an accredited program of nursing. Must have AHA approved Basic Life Support/CPR certification for healthcare workers at time of hire and throughout employment. Work requires possession of a current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland at the time of appointment and continuously throughout tenure in position. Maintains professional knowledge and skills through attendance at professional meetings, workshops, courses, and in-service sessions. Work requires interpersonal skills sufficient to provide a warm, welcoming environment to new employees, maintain professional courtesy with employees at all levels of the organization, and maintain confidentiality with employee, organization, and protected health information. Position requires analytical ability for nursing assessment, emergency first aide, and documentation of pertinent information for documentation. Work requires attention to detail in pre-employment testing, infection control (Hepatitis B and influenza) shots, and records maintenance and mental/visual fatigue with computer data entry. In keeping with the Maryland Board of Nursing guidelines, all nurses must have an active Maryland nursing license to practice in the state of Maryland, or must have an active license in a compact state that allows them to practice in Maryland, if they reside in that compact state. A multistate licensee who changes primary state of residence to another party state shall apply for a multistate license in the new party state within 60 days. The rule requires that a nurse apply for a new license in a new primary state of residence within 60 days of relocating, it does not require the new license be issued withing 60 days. Work requires travel to Towson and Elkridge hospitals
