Employee Relations and Leave Senior Manager

Reporting to Head of HR Services and Capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Employee Relations

Create the Employee Relations function for the US and Puerto Rico, with primary focus on the employee experienceRespond and manage employee complaints presented through various avenues.Independently lead complex and difficult conversations with employees and management, investigating employee complaints and concerns, offering possible solutions, and recommending appropriate action steps.Expedite HR and employee relations issues investigations and manage outcomes in collaboration with HR, business teams and legalInterpret policies and procedures, incorporating knowledge of state and federal employment laws (i.e. ADA, FMLA, EEO), and practices; Provide recommendations to resolve complex employee relations issues, including coordination with leave, disability, and workplace accommodationsEstablish investigation documentation templates and a formal management system for all cases and requests to track of issues, progress, and outcomesAnalyze employee relations data, report on trends, and recommend policy and process changesCollaborate closely with HR, business teams and Legal to develop, revise, implement, and interpret company programs, policies, and practices for resolutions and continuous improvements.Manage crisis situations, sometimes under time constraints, including necessary travel.Educate Employees about their rights, responsibilities, codes of conduct, and other HR policies, procedures, and practices to maintain a healthy and positive working environment.Create and deliver training to a variety of audiences in the business, including HR.Foster Employee engagement and inclusionMonitor legislative changes related to employment laws in the US and Puerto Rico and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements.

Leave and Workplace Accommodations Management

Provide subject-matter expertise related to employee leaves, disability, and reasonable accommodations for US and Puerto Rico employees, with focus on the employee experienceOversee and ensure adherence to federal, state and local laws, including, but not limited to, FMLA, ADA, EEO, HIPAA, DOL and IRS regulationsCollaborate with payroll on leave related pay matters, including reconciliation issues and coordination of state disability programs with Integra’s disability planEngage with HR, Legal, EHS, and management teams on complex leave and reasonable accommodation issues and requestsEducate and guide Employees, HR, and managers related to disability and reasonable accommodations requestsReview and make recommendations to revise processes and policies with a focus on compliance, continuous improvement, mitigating risk, and alignment with business objectivesLead the assessment and implementation of new programs, vendor RFPs, and contract negotiations related to leaves of absenceManage all notice requirements for various federal and state leaves, as applicable.Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Employee Relations, or related field. Master’s degree in business or related field preferredMinimum of 12 years’ work experience in Employee Relations and/or Business HR experience, inclusive of 2 years directly managing HR investigation experience requiredExperience building and leading an employee relations function for an organization including developing and implementing policy and process improvementsExperience administering and understanding organizational leave, disability, and reasonable accommodation plans and requestsKnowledge of US & Puerto Rico Employment Law and HR related policies and proceduresExpert knowledge of state leave laws (including paid leaves) and federal regulations related to leave and disability (including short-term and long-term disability)Ability to exercise good judgment with respect to data privacy and security and handle sensitive information respectfully and compassionately and maintain confidentialityFundamental knowledge of general payroll conceptsDeep commitment to exceptional customer serviceAbility to interact with all levels of the organization including executive staffExceptional relationship building and collaboration skills for leading and working with internal and external stakeholdersStrong organizational skills that include taking appropriate action to move open cases forward to resolution in a timely mannerEffective verbal and written communication skills that support building strong partnerships, appropriate influence, and portraying an objective and defensible position on situationsExercise strong business judgment that is aligned with broad organizational philosophies and practices and is compliant with regulationsMakes effective decisions in ambiguous situationsAbility to thrive in a fast paced, highly collaborative and evolving organizationKnowledge in MS Office, Navex, Workday and other related software
