Employee Relations Business Partner - Internal Only

What You’ll Be Doing 
The purpose of the Employee Relations, (ER) Business Partner role is to serve as an advocate for employees and as an internal consultant to leaders regarding employee relations matters and policy interpretation. The ER Business Partner will ensure legal compliance and consistency in the fact-finding/investigative and documentation process that is aligned with Percepta’s policies and government regulations/laws. The ER Business Partner will assist in promoting Percepta’s Values of Teamwork, Respect, being Proactive, and Culture of Service, as well as our commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. This role will support the local North American region.

During a Typical Day, You’ll

·Partner with Leaders and PI Business Partners to manage Corrective Action and Performance Improvement Plan Process.

·Conduct thorough Investigations of workplace issues and concerns, including complaints of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other violations of Percepta policies, laws/regulations.

·Collaborate cross-functionally to gather relevant information including interviewing parties involved and preparing and reviewing case documentation ensuring accuracy.

·Coach, counsel, and educate employees on policies, performance management, processes, programs, position eliminations, and strategies.

·Partner with Legal to determine risk and provide a recommended course of action related to employee relations matters while ensuring compliance with applicable laws/regulations and employment agreements/contracts.

·Support legal in responding to charges by providing documentation on arbitration/litigation cases.

·Process and respond timely to and complete unemployment claims providing supporting documentation.

·Provide weekly status reports of ER cases.

What You Bring to the Role 

Education

·Bachelor’s degree

·Certification: PHR or SPHR, preferred

·Knowledgeable of ADA, FMLA, FSLA, NLRB, Title VII, EEOC, DOL.

·Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws pertaining to employment.

Experience

·3-5 years of experience in employee relations, working in an hourly workforce environment.

·Minimum 3 years of investigating workplace issues.

·Exhibit strong attention to detail in recommending outcomes for investigations.

Skills

·Keep up to date with relevant laws and workplace challenges in employee relations.

·Excellent organization skills and accurate attention to detail in investigative documentation and report writing.

·Solid sense of high-quality judgment in problem-solving and sound decision-making.

·Effective communicator, with the ability to relate to people across all levels and diverse backgrounds.

·Ability to confidentially handle interactions with discretion, tact, and courtesy.

·Ability to prioritize and organize work and work independently.
