What you can expect from this position:

As an Employee Relations Governance Manager, you’ll oversee and ensure compliance with the GTAA’s legislative obligations within Employee Relations. Reporting into the Associate Director, Employee and Labour Relations, this critical role involves designing, developing, and implementing our Human Resources Policy Framework, as well as managing governance, investigative protocols, and outcome management for matters related to bullying, harassment, discrimination, workplace violence, and other Code of Conduct & Business Ethics violations.

As an Employee Relations Governance Manager, you will:

Serve as a primary Designated Recipient and/or Internal Investigator for complex and sensitive matters Develop and draft investigative reports, followed by recommendations and implementation of remedial measures, including training and safety requirements Lead, set and support standards, best practice, guidance, coaching and proactive training to other HR professionals engaging in workplace assessments or investigation as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Manage the Human Resources Policy Framework, ensuring compliance with legislative obligations and fit for purpose for the business needs Stay current on HR legislation and proactively review and update policies and procedures to ensure compliance Serve as the lead spokesperson and champion for Employee Relations related programs, processes and policies Develop, deliver and drive communications and training on HR policies and legislative obligations Lead and manage frameworks, guidelines, and protocols for employee relations matters, including attendance improvement, accommodations, drug and alcohol and performance management Support as a SME in various committees and engage with stakeholders to identify risks, implement mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations Lead the RFP process and maintain contract lifecycle; and manage vendor relationships and service contracts for Medical Review, Alcohol and Drug Testing, and Disability-based Accommodation Review

The salary for this management non-unionized position is competitive based on the successful candidate’s qualifications

This is the role for you, if you have:

Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field 5+ years’ experience in Human Resources and Employee/Labour Relations, working in a large, complex, multi-union environment 2+ years’ experience being the lead investigator for matters pertaining to violence, bullying, harassment, discrimination and respect in the workplace Exposure and experience relating to policy development Training and/or certification in Workplace Assessment and Investigations preferred Demonstrated experience managing projects involving multiple stakeholders considered a strong asset Ability to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance

Excellent ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a clear, concise and organized manner to all levels Effective presentation skills Ability to remain calm and poised under pressure and difficult situations In depth knowledge of current and emerging labour and employment legislation, human rights legislation Ability to approach investigations with a bias-free mindset, with demonstrated awareness and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion Ability to consolidate investigative notes and facts, and formulate investigative report in a succinct manner Ability to be resourceful and a self-starter, with proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities Ability to work independently and in a team environment Strong bias to drive execution, with demonstrated experience in designing, developing and implementing programs, processes, policies and procedures while applying change management principles
