Job Description

Essential Functions

Conducts investigations, analyzes information available, and works to resolve employee relations concernsProvides guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment practicesConsults with leaders on corrective action and recommendations for terminationHelps identify corrective action measures to help support employee development and successProvides training and feedback to leaders to support a strong leadership cultureProvides guidance to managers and human resources on employee relations related issues, which may include employee discipline, grievances and conflict resolution, work life balance, and the EAP programManages Employee Relations teamManages the process to investigate and respond to complaints from external agenciesWorks with HR department staff to ensure compliance with applicable regulations (ADA, FMLA, etc).May serve on teams and committees as assigned by leaderMay have responsibility in departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural changeServes as a member of the HR leadership team and be asked to support other HR leadership and staff functions to ensure department successPerforms other duties as requested by primary manager that do not compromise moral code of conduct or protocols set in place for patient or employee safetySupervised PositionsEmployee relations team

Qualifications

Minimum Education RequiredBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar or equivalent of 4 to 6 years of experienceMinimum Education PreferredSHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR designationMinimum Experience RequiredThree (3)years Human Resources experience in mature Employee Relations programs and/or Generalist experienceFormal training in problem solving specific to federal/state labor laws, EEO and policy/proceduresMinimum Experience PreferredExperience in a healthcare settingWorking knowledge of all relevant federal, state and local employment laws and regulations : Additional working knowledge of healthcare accreditation standards

Ability to utilize intranet/internet and e-mailAbility to communicate effectively with individuals of various educational levels via written and verbal formatsAbility to utilize the personal computer in windows formatPossess the ability to speak publicly representing the hospital and promoting a positive imageAbility to utilize standard office equipment e.g., copy machine, fax machine, multiple phone lines, personal computer and printer to perform necessary job dutiesPerforms complex tasks typically following established processesDemonstrates commitment to organizations five (5) priorities and Six Ground RulesPerson in this position is required to understand, agree upon and follow our Six Ground Rules:No excuses.We are a team.Bring up your ideas.Poor performance will be addressed.‘That’s not my job’ is not acceptableManage Up.
